Keep it, sell it or dye it..

Two month ago, I ordered some DK yarn for shawl, I wanted something light and more subtle..but the yarn arrived not to my liking. The colour...is more peach than pink, is really not my type of colour. I have a few option here.. remain in the stash, sell it, give it away or dye it..

Last night, I put aside my nearly finish project, start experiment with some dye, I guess if I don't do anything about it, it will remain in the drawer for a long long time.
I found a few good tutorial online about dyeing with food colouring since koolaids are not selling here. I spend whole evening testing on different technique and colour..I try the tutorial from Kesse but it the yarn doesn't really take the colour, I can't figure out what went wrong. So I switch to Pieknit tutorial, the yarn react the same ,..until I added in vinegar and the yarn start taking in the colour, but the water still doesn't turn clear. At the end I just go along as I think is right without checking the time or temperature, I took out the yarn when I think the colour is right.

Both of the technique are more or less the same, only difference are the use of vinager on different stage..The colour came out very soild but slightly on the dull side which cos by the base colour, but I still have a doubt..whether I should dye it or not.

How many balls of the DK yarn do you have? It looks pinkie in the picture though. Hmmm... The dye colors turned out very good. If you wanna dye them, which color will you choose?

Your dye job looks great! The colors look really nice. I have a lot of Kool Aid stocked up, is there a specific color you are looking for? I can send you soem if you want.

To get a more 'vibrant' or 'solid' colour, use more vinegar. Just slosh it in and let it do its work. I use them by the bottles when I was dyeing actively.
