Wrong choice

I'm still alive and knitting, but very slow..
I have complete the front and back panel for the Rowan butterfly vest 3 week ago but no place to have it block since we have a few guests in the house over the chinese new year, the spare room been taking over by luggage bags and mattress. I'm a bit nervous about the seaming of the vest though, it took me endless night to knit it, just hope that I wouldn't mess it up at the last stage.

Meanwhile, I have started Sahara top by Knit and tonic, I using knitpicks shine worested. I'm a bit disappointed about the quality of the yarn, it sort of split and getting furry after awhile..and the color are not evenly dye, the black are not soild, is like fabric that been wash for long time..it sort of dark grey with a tint of green.. I still have a doubt whether I should finish it or not.

Despite from the disappointment on Sahara top, I have start another project when I received my order from Fyberspates last night and I just can't wait to try the yarn. As soon as I reach home, wound it into ball and start knitting Clapotis..The yarn is scrumptious DK in 45 percent silk and 55 percent Bluefaced Leicester , is really soft and nice to knit...but then..again..I not so sure about the color, I was hoping the yarn will have more green than turquoise...seem to me, I always order the wrong color yarn..is the third time this month.

I didn't like Shine Worsted either. It's sheds horribly, and I thought it was really unevenly spun. Having said that, from what I can see of your Sahara above I think it looks really nice. I hope it works out for you!

with the clapotis you may find it looks very different once you start to drop the sts, I have one that looked like I wouldnt like the colour until I started to drop the sts

I'm sorry you are disappointed in the colors, but it all looks beautiful to me! Especially Butterfly. I keep meaning to start this pattern, and I have some pearl gray yarn I can use, but seeing yours makes me wish I chose a darker, more earthy color!

I'm knitting a sahara in knitpicks Shine too. And I'm hating it. I'm finding the hardest part is the sleeves with the diamond rib trim. Nothing I do will stop them from poofing out and turning into bell sleeves, which would be fine, except I want short sleeves so it just looks dorky.

When you get to the sleeves let me know how it works our for you.
