One skein knit

I been wanting to knit a news boy for awhile, finally I put it in action during the weekend with my left over yarn from the simple bolero. I was quite worry that I don't have enough yarn since I only have about one and half skein of left over, so I have knit the cap with a simple knit and purl sts, turn out it used up exactly one skein of yarn..and it only took one day to finish.

Meanwhile.. I have re-do my Lady Eleanor Stole with smaller needle, the sts look much better now but I have a slight problem with the yarn dye lot. I have ordered another 7 skein of Noro Kureyon 52 for this stole, however the dye lot arrived slight different from the previous yarn that I received from Angela, the color code are the same..only the new yarn have a sudden appear of yellow. I have decide to cut off all the yellow in the yarn. I don't think the yellow are match with others hue that in the yarn, hopefully doesn't affected the length of the stole.

Another project that I have work on is a cardigan that inspire from the sixties, I call it the Jackie 'O' cardigan... I have use three strands of arcylic yarn to made up thicker ply on 8mm needle.. here are front of the cardigan.. the only concern that I have is the cardigan mightl turn out a bit bulky..cross my fingers..

Turtleneck Shrug

I have finish my turtleneck shrug from Scarfstyle last night. Beside the horrible incident about the shrug two week ago, I do enjoy the knitting the shrug eventhough it took quite awhile to knit it. I use about 4 1/2 skein of Rowan Kid Classic ( it would be 4 skein if my cleaner didn't destroy it) and the yarn are very pleasant to knit with. The shrug are really warm, I been sweating like a pig when taking this picture, but it will be perfect for my trip to England this winter !!

Biggy tote

Just a quick post on my F.O, Biggy tote. I actually finish this bag few week ago, it been sitting in my living room for quite awhile. Yesterday, all the sudden I just sick of looking at it , guess it about time to sew it up. I found this big yarn in one of the local yarn store, the yarn is actually call Biggy by Sidar and it require 15mm jumbo needle. I have so much fun knitting it, but the lining sew up is not fun at all.

I have put in a soft plastic sheet in between so that the bag will stay in shape, look at the horrible sts... I just can't get the sts evenly..

Turtleneck shrug..

I have started the Turtleneck Shrug from Scarfstyle last week, half way to the first sleeve I went to meet up a few knitter in town. To my horror when I got back, the yarn are torn out from the sleeve and half of the ball of yarn are missing. The cleaner, must be the cleaner, they have mess it up without inform me...I call and complain to the agent, and they said they'll give me an explanation on Monday but till now they haven't call..I swear..I gonna skin them alive this weekend..

I'm on my second sleeve now and very worry I don't have enough yarns cos I only order exact balls it require. It look quite simple from the book but it took longer than you think. I use Rowan Kid Classic in Royal, the yarn are surprisingly soft. During the meet up with the local knitter I have learn magic loop from one of the lady- Sally, the technique really came in handy, is perfect for knitting up the sleeve. Initially, I use 30mm circular but the circular are too short to fit my hand, so I change to dpn, it doesn't work as well.

Also I brought a set of Knitpicks Option needle, I love it. The needle are so smooth and the wire will not curl up like other needle, regardless of all the comment on the sharpness of the needle tip, I quite like it, is really nice to pick up sts especially on mohair and lace yarns. The only downside is the joinning screw between the needle and wire, I'm not sure is the screw part come in different size or not, just can't tell by looking at it. I have try on all the needle, some of it just can't fit well, you have to twist it a few time till the screw get loosen then it start working out. I think they really have to work on it and it will be nice to come in instruction sheet..rather than you just guess your way through.

Thanks to my secret pal Eluned, I have received a lovely belated package. She have send my two lovely skein of Noro Blossom, and a lot of other goodies, thanks.

Circular shrug

I brought some Rowan Cotton Tape from ebay with very good price. I immediately tried it on Circular Shrug, at first I keep trying to twist and flatten the yarn, but it turn out the sts come out no diiference at all whether it turn or not. The yarn are so pleasant to knit, is fast, light and it have a beautiful weight on the shrug after knitted. It is a shame Rowan have discontinued the yarn, I must stock it before it run out..
